It is no secret that schools are majorly overcrowded in the state of California. Overcrowded schools enroll up to five times the number of students they were built to serve. For example, 4,200 students attend South Gate Middle School in Los Angeles, when it was really only built to serve 800 students. In 2011 alone, California cut $18,000,000,000 from their annual education budget. Consequently, students have to pay for it by copying information from an overhead because there is not enough paper to make copies for everyone. Students also have to share textbooks because there is not enough to go around. In many cases, not all students have a desk to sit at. Unfortunately, that's the least of their problems. 1/3 of all classrooms in California are portable classrooms, which are structurally unsafe. Luckily, there are commercial modernization construction companies like Echo Pacific Construction who can help with this problem. Echo Pacific specializes in improving old, existing schools through cost-effective updates and enhancements to their exterior, interior, and most importantly, infrastructure systems.
