PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The plant is unique as it feeds both Bernardo Heights Middle School and Rancho Bernardo High School campuses. Replacing the aging ice towers was accomplished in phases. An original chiller was repaired and kept operational to allow for the installation of the other two new chillers. The boilers and heat exchangers were replaced during summer break as to not interrupt day to day student and staff operations.

The thermal storage towers were removed and a new 72,562 gallon tank was installed to hold the 300,000 thermal nodules and glycol cooling medium. All new high efficiency pumps, VFD’s, chillers and all associated distribution piping and electrical were replaced in the cooler months.

“Echo Pacific has in my opinion gone beyond specified requirements in area of salvage return, extra stock, training coordination, permit closure management, as built records, and warranty correction management. They have made my job easier and provided an important capstone to the overall high quality product that they unswervingly produce.”
